OUR STORY

There’s a difference the moment you walk in

Personal, unhurried and unlike most hotels you’ve stayed in. El Cielito has been on Engineer’s Hill since 1994 and it just keeps getting better

The Hotel

A place that already feels familiar.

Vigan floors. Warm wood. Carefully chosen local and Cordillera-inspired art and design details throughout the hotel. A pocket garden with bamboo walls and a stone waterfall, both built the way mountain people have always built things: with material pulled from the earth and placed with care and intention.

This is a place where every detail has a story. Where sitting still for an hour doesn’t feel like wasted time. Where everything you see is there because it belongs, not because it was purchased to fill a space.

The hotel has been here since 1994. Rooms and spaces are continuously refreshed and updated so the experience is always worth coming back to.

LOCAL CHARACTER

Local character, thoughtfully present.

Baguio is shaped by the mountains around it and the Cordillera communities that have long given the region its character.

At El Cielito, that influence appears in selected artwork, carved and woven details, warm wood finishes, and interiors that bring a little more of the city’s character indoors.

It is not presented as a theme or a replica. It is a quiet nod to the culture, craftsmanship, and sense of place that make Baguio feel unlike anywhere else.

Together, these details create a hotel that feels warm, familiar, and distinctly at home in the city.

It is a place for people who come to explore, reconnect, celebrate, meet, create, and enjoy Baguio in their own way.

WHAT YOU FIND HERE

Slow mornings.
Full days.
Time well spent.

Some days are for quiet coffee, cool air, and nowhere urgent to be. Others are for meetings, workshops, city walks, long lunches, and time with the people you came with.

The pocket garden is there when you want a pause. The terrace is open. The city is close. Our spaces are ready for both unhurried stays and days that have a lot going on.

That’s the vibe: Baguio, at your own pace.

The TEAM

The people who make it feel like home.

Many of the staff at El Cielito have been here for more than 20 years. Some since the hotel first opened.

That kind of tenure shows up in everything: the warmth at the front desk, the care in the dining room, the way returning guests are recognized before they even give their name. Past employees come back to visit. Long-time guests stop by just to say hello.
